But this epic theme is still meant to be an affordable gaming laptop, so you shouldn’t F15 models that come with a high-end GPU or high-end display options. It should just offer you know a lot of gaming performance for your money.

ROG Zephyrus G15 AMD will either brand new Ryzen 4000 series mobile CPUs last week, and the very first laptop that I reviewed with that CPU was emphasized Bravo 70 And I have to say the performance of the CPU was just incredible, so I couldn’t wait to get started on the second laptop they came in, which is this one ROG Zephyrus G15 Now this is a 15-inch brother of the G 14 And I’m pretty sure you’ve seen some of those reviews online already.
Design, Materials, Build Quality Asus TUF gaming F15
This Asus TUF gaming F15 isn’t a laptop that’s trying to be the lightest or the thinnest option on the market, but it is trying to find a good balance between value and mobility. It is a 15-inch laptop with a weight of around 2.3 kilos and it is two and a half centimeters thick so it is pretty mobile for a gaming laptop.
It is mostly made of plastic so it doesn’t look or feel super premium, but it’s actually built quite well and it feels pretty sturdy. Overall. Now there’s not that much flex into panels, the hinges are solid and it just feels like it should handle regular everyday use completely fine. It does have a bit of a gamey design but it is nothing over the top.
Asus TUF gaming F15 Keyboard, Touchpad
It is easy to open it up with one hand and on the inside, you will find a typical Asus gaming keyboard, which I think is pretty comfortable and very familiar if you’ve ever worked on an RG laptop before. It has a nice tactile feel to it and it’s just really pleasant to type on and to Game on.
It even comes with a Numpad this time around, which is always a plus for me. And the backlight is RGB while the dash f 50 from a few months ago had a single color only.
Now the touchpad is pretty okay as well. I mean, you shouldn’t expect miracles but it feels pretty smooth and it will do its job just fine. I do like the fact that they include his physical buttons so I would still warmly recommend getting a mouse instead.
Webcam Asus TUF gaming F15
I was really happy to see that Asus is finally adding some webcams to their gaming laptops. on quite a few of their previous models they actually skipped on the webcam because I think they felt that gamers won’t really need one which is also true.
But given the current state of the world where most people are just working from home, I do think it is wise to have one, after all, this is the test of the camera and off the microphone of the new Asus stuff gaming F15 laptop. And as you can see the quality is actually quite okay. and I think it’s going to be completely fine for a meeting or school-themed thing that you need to do, it will do just fine.
Webcam Asus TUF gaming F15 Connections
When it comes to connections, you get a single USB three port on the right side, and on the left, you get an Ethernet connection HDMI 2.0 ports, two more USB three ports, and USB Type C ports with Thunderbolt four support, which is really nice to have.
Performance Profiles, Thermals, Noise
Before jumping into performance graphs, I do want to talk about some of the different performance settings that this laptop comes with. So there are actually three modes that you can choose from Silent performance and turbo, with performance being the default mode this laptop comes with.
Now usually, the default profile should be the most balanced one and the turbo profile pushes temperatures way too high for my comfort, just to look a bit better in benchmarks, but on this laptop, the turbo mode actually looks very good. It does make it a bit louder compared to the default profile, but it shows much higher CPU and GPU clocks while keeping very comfortable temperatures.
The performance mode is nicely balanced if you want to keep the noise down a bit. But if you’re serious about performance, and you’re gaming with a headset, just go for turbo and that is also the mode that I will be using in all my benchmarks today. As for the silent profile, it’s quite enough and great for doing some light work but you should not gain when it as the CPU and the GPU will be getting a lot less power.
Intel Core i7-11800H CPU Performance
Now, this laptop comes with a brand new Tiger Lake processor, the i7 11800 H and it is a 10-nanometre high-performance CPU with eight cores and a TDP of 45 watts. And it is fast. Now when it comes to multicore performance it actually scored the highest of all laptops I’ve tested so far, outperforming the Ryzen 950 900 h x and 5980 H s and also the older I 910 980 H game when it comes to single-core performance, it ended up just behind the 5980 HS and the four core 11 378
But it’s still very much up there. Now looking at the blender results it managed to seven-year record as well. Now most of the CPUs you see at the top of these graphs are so close to each other they don’t really matter which one you pick, any of them will be able to handle any CPU-heavy task easily.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming Performance (1080p)
Now when it comes to gaining performance, it kind of really depends on which game you’re looking at, and which laptop you’re comparing this one too. Unlike the dash f 15. The new F 15 clearly isn’t CPU limited. So comparing this new F15 with an RT X 3060 against the dash f15 with a quad-core SEVEN and an RTX 3070 The new FFT looks really good. It is considerably faster in CPU-heavy titles like Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed.
It is just as fast or faster in most other games and only in really GPU. Heavy titles like do, for example, the RTX 3070 are able to pull ahead, but even then the difference is really small.
The upside of Nvidia Optimus is battery life and this epic Dean is able to run Netflix for around eight hours while the MSI GF 65. Thin just over five. So you need to decide for yourself what is more important to you. Do you want a laptop that just focuses on gaming performance, or do you want a laptop that offers a good gaming performance but also a great battery life that will last you most of the day?
Now one little side note here this FFT has a four-cell 90-watt hour battery, but Soos is also listing a smaller three-cell 48 watt-hour battery on their website, which will probably cut the battery life in half. Now it will totally depend on your region which battery options will be available to you. So if battery life is what matters to you, make sure you get a model that has a 90-watt hour battery.
Internals, Maintenance, Upgrades
Are those are well done as well. You can easily clean the fans you can replace the battery you can replace the SSD or add a second one and the Wi-Fi chip is replaceable and if you have trouble finding it, it is right under the SSD right here. It is Wi-Fi six though so you won’t need to replace it just yet. And I would say I’m really happy to see that both memory sticks are socketed and can be upgraded If you want.
That is pretty much all I have for today. I’m really happy to manage to fix a few of my main issues with a dash f 15. So you get a high-end eight-core CPU instead of a four-core one. They included a webcam which will be a big deal for a lot of you looking to combine a good gaming experience with schools or working from home. If you mostly care about gaming, it is very important to remember that laptops that offer the same spec and a Mac switch will still perform a bit better in games.
But if you want a gaming laptop with excellent battery life, these optimist models are a pretty good choice and performance I would say still very solid all around. The only real issue is the poor color performance of this 144-hertz panel. but that is something you will find on most laptops in this price class. and if you want to do some creative work as well Something that this machine is more than capable of performance-wise, you should get a model with a 240-hertz panel, instead.
Acer Nitro 5 specification is the one with the AMD processor, it’s the one with the RT X 3070 that you guys have been waiting for me to review and look if you’re expecting a big redesign change, that’s not happening this year, it’s still using a plastic both.
